Wordfulless Wednesday: It's A Jungle Out There

And I thought my yard was bad.

It's been quite awhile since the grass/weeds have been cut at the dog park. I think the dogs are enjoying all the hidden spaces though.

A Bit of Random For a Tuesday

I just feel like releasing some of the random that's floating around. Feel free to join me in the comments if you've got some random to let go of also.

~ Yesterday I sent Kyle a text that said this:

Giving you fair warning: my period is here, I feel like crap, I'm cranky and I'm doing jack cheese today. I do not need to hear crap about it either. If I do, you'll likely get your head bitten off. Just letting you know. Love you.

He came home and said:

How come you sent me a text telling me you're a bitch?

LOL I couldn't really argue with that.

~ I read an entire book yesterday. It's called Secrets of a Shoe Addict. It was an easy chic lit. Something I really needed. It definitely wasn't what I expected, but I enjoyed it. The part I didn't expect was the sexual stuff in it, {not a lot, but more than what I'm used to reading} but if that's up your alley, go for it.

~ I made some cinnamon rolls the other day. I made them BIG and they're GOOD. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures. I love cinnamon rolls but it's such a mess of a task. LOL It was worth it though.

~ Looks like we may get to take our boat out for the 4th of July after all. The parts we were waiting for came in the mail yesterday so now if Kyle and my FIL can get the parts replaced before the weekend, we should be in business.

~ I don't remember if I mentioned it here. I know I did on Twitter, but our lawn mower is broken. Kyle's been looking for one on Craigslist for a couple of weeks. Last night he sent an email to a guy and about 15 minutes later he got a call. Turns out that Kyle was the LAST person to email the guy {putting him at the top of the guys email} about this Honda lawn mower. They were talking about location, where they live, etc. Turns out the guy lives one block over from us! How crazy is that? LOL So about an hour after the call, the guy called Kyle back and told him he was home so Kyle walked over to get the lawn mower. A little bit later Kyle comes back and says that the guy is going to sell him two full propane tanks for $20 also {so he'd come home to get the car}. Now, we have a working lawn mower and hopefully our lawn will not look like a jungle again and propane for the BBQ.

~ Can you believe that this weekend is already 4th of July weekend? Where did June go? It's been so cold and dreary here this June that people have started calling it Juneuary. Hopefully it starts to heat up soon! This year for the 4th we're going up to Lake Goodwin, where we've gone for the past few years. We're going to be in the boat parade and Kyle's going to use his water balloon launcher that he built last year right AFTER the 4th of July. It's going to be LOUD but I know the guys are going to have fun with it. What are your plans for this weekend?

Worship and Praise Sunday: Jesus I Adore You

Jesus I Adore You
The Maranatha! Singers

Father I adore you
I lay my life before you
How I love you

Jesus I adore you
I lay my life before you
How I love you

Spirit I adore you
I lay my life before you
How I love you

Lord you are more precious than silver
Lord you are more costly than gold
Lord you are more beautiful than diamonds
And nothing I desire compares with you

~~~~~~~~
I think this song is probably one of the first ones that I ever really learned. Well besides a few of the kids songs from back in the day. It's easy, it's simple and it's a really pretty song. I hope you enjoy it today.
Have a blessed Sunday!
Six Word Saturday:
Organizing My Closet. Lots of Organizing!
Join Cate at Show My Face for more Six Word Saturdays. She's got lots of groupies that like to play along!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A certain English lady visited Switzerland and was having difficulty finding a room, so she asked the local schoolmaster to help her. After a satisfactory room had been found, she returned to her home and did some packing.
Suddenly, it occured to her that she hadn't noticed a W.C. (in England, the toilet is called a Water Closet), so she wrote the schoolmaster about the W.C.
The Schoolmaster, not knowing the meaning, asked the parish priest and together they decided that it must mean "Wayside Chapel." He wrote her the following letter:
Dear Madame,
It is my pleasure to inform you that there is a W.C. just 9 miles from your home, in the center of a grove of pine trees. It seats 229 people, and it is open on Thursdays and Sundays. This is an unfortunate situation if you are in the habit of going regularly. You will, no
doubt, be glad to hear that some people bring their lunches and make a day of it.
I would especially recommend Thursdays, for then there is an Organ accompaniment. The accoustics in the W.C. are excellent; even the most delicate sound can be heard.
My son was married in the W.C. and there was such a rush for seats that 10 people had to sit in the same seat. The looks on their faces were very interesting.
My wife is sickly but dedicated. She doesn't go regularly, and she hasn't gone for nearly a year.
I will be glad to reserve a seat in the W.C. for you, where you will be seen and heard by everyone.
Hoping I have been of some assistance.
Sincerely yours,
The Schoolmaster
Bubba and Junior were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up.
A woman walked by and asked what they were doing. "We're supposed to find the height of the flagpole," said Bubba, "but we don't have a ladder." The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts, and laid the pole down. Then she took a tape measure from her pocket, took a measurement and announced, "Eighteen feet, six inches," and walked away.
Junior shook his head and laughed. "Ain't that just like a dumb blonde! We ask for the height, and she gives us the length!"
~~~~~~

A blonde walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the Loan officer. She says she's going to Europe on business for two weeks and needs to borrow $5,000.

The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan, so the blonde hands over the keys to a new Mercedes Benz SL 500.

The car is parked on the street in front of the bank, she has the title and everything checks out. The bank agrees to accept the car collateral for the loan.

The bank's president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the blond for using a $110,000 Benz as collateral against a $5,000 loan.

An employee of the bank then proceeds to drive the Benz into the bank's underground garage and parks it there. Two weeks later, the blonde returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41.

The loan officer says, "Miss, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire.

What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?"

The blonde replies, "Where else in New York City can I park my Car for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return?"

Finally... a smart blonde joke.

MOJO? Where Are You?

I've lost my MOJO. Do you know where I can find it?

I feel lost.

I don't know what to write about.

I feel dull and boring and like I've got nothing to say.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that's gone through a slump like this, but really, this is kind of pathetic.

I've got a couple of reviews/giveaways to post, but I feel like people get tired of those so I'm feeling uninspired to actually post them.

And I don't know what is wrong with me.

I'm ALWAYS tired.

It doesn't matter if I've gotten 5 hours of sleep or 14 hours of sleep. I'm T-I-R-E-D.

Like I could go back to sleep as soon as I get up, tired.

By about 4pm, I could honestly fall asleep standing up, tired.

And please don't suggest that I'm pregnant. I know it to not be true.

I could just complain in this post but I feel like that's all I ever do so I'm just gonna stop now.

Please just tell me where I can find my MOJO so I can get back to posting read-worthy material.

Muchos grassy-ass!!

Wordfulless Wednesday: Straw Bale...Garden?

If you've been reading MckMama's blog you know that they started straw bale gardening.

After I read that she was doing that, I remembered that we had some straw in our white trash side yard that we had used as part of our Christmas light display. Yeah, it's now June, got a problem with that?

So one day while I was outside with Chewy, I went over to see what was going on with it and this is what I saw.

WEEDS!! Woohoo! We're growing.......WEEDS!

And it took no effort on our part at all!!

Please just ignore all the other crap out there. It's the catch-all for the yard. Some of it was left by the previous owners and in the 4.5 years we've lived here, Kyle still hasn't gotten it all to the dump. {And believe me when I say that the previous owners left ALL their crap. You should've seen the inside of the house. Had to be fully cleaned up and restored before we could move in!} Some of it is left over from our Christmas light display. Some of it is just trash and weeds. We're in the process of cleaning it up so just pretend you don't see it.

What's On Your DVR??

A couple weeks ago, Teri at The Mighty M Family asked me what I'm watching this summer. And because I've been a bit MIA, I'm just now answering.

I think I've mentioned once or twice that I'm a bit of a TV addict. I watch way too much tv, but I just can't help it. I love it.

Sometimes I watch shows when they're on, but more often then not I spend a day or so getting caught up on all/some of my shows and then it builds back up until I get a chance to sit and watch again.

All of my favorite shows always start up in the Fall but there are still shows that I get sucked into during the Summer. As you'll notice I watch a lot of Food Network and Bravo.

Right now on my DVR I have:

The Bachelorette
True Beauty
Real Housewives...all of them
Bethenny, Getting Married?
Top Chef
The Next Food Network Star
Cupcake Wars
Chopped
Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives
Say Yes To The Dress
Chefs vs. City

Wipeout - Premiering soon and is Hysterical!

Other shows that have already premiered or are going to be premiering soon...I will watch if I happen to catch them but unsure if they're ones that will get recorded.

{Summer tv schedule found here}

Jersey Couture
The Little Couple
America's Got Talent
So You Think You Can Dance
Holly's World
Minute To Win It
Jersey Shore
Bachelor Pad

So, what are YOU watching this Summer? Am I the only crazy one addicted to crap tv? LOL

In Our Dreams

I don't know if I ever told you, but when Kyle and I bought our house, we had lots of ideas of what we wanted to do to improve it. After all, it was OUR house now. The sky is the limit.

One of the things we were going to do was take out the door of the hallway bathroom and make it a solid wall and also take out part of the wall at the other end of the hallway, make one of the bedrooms in the front of the house the Master, cut through that rooms closet for a new bathroom door and make the hallway bathroom the Master Bathroom. We had grand plans of how we were going to put in a special vanity , double sinks, granite counter tops...it was going to be BEAUTIFUL.

But, as most of you know, I am married to a contractor. Do you also know that that means that the projects around my house never get done? Do you know that I've got a LIST of things that still need to be done around here? Kyle is just too busy to get to them. So I wait, and dream of what it's like to have a fully completed home to live in.

Some day, I WILL have a beautiful vanity in one of my bathrooms and I've been drooling over some of them from the CSN store.

My dreams will come true, if not in this house, in another one.

Have you ever remodeled or added on a bathroom? How'd it go? What were your favorite / least favorite parts of the whole process?

I'm Done! I Can Breathe!

The quarter is OVER!!! And what a long quarter it was.

Next quarter is going to be CAKE compared to the last two!

I'm going to have a night class from 6-8:50 two nights a week, an online class and my Phlebotomy externship (40 hours for 3 weeks) doesn't start till the end of the quarter. I actually am scheduled to start on my birthday. Wow, happy birthday to me, right? LOL I did choose it though because it's the nicer of all of the hospitals so I can't really complain. I'm excited for it though.

The last quarter is going to be HARD so I need to relish in the easiness of Summer quarter.

Anywho, I'm DONE and I can BREATHE for a couple weeks until the next quarter starts up again.

Wordlessful Wednesday: Something Is Wrong With This Picture

And these pictures too...

Not exactly the way we wanted to start our weekend last Friday.

If you follow me on Twitter, you probably already saw a couple of these.

You may remember that Kyle got this boat awhile ago and it was in exchange for a side job that he's been doing for the past year or so.

He's driven the boat two places.

From the previous owners house to our house and from our house, to here:

Um, wrong destination, Boat!

On Friday afternoon / evening, we got in the car with the boat attached to the back. We were taking it over to Kyle's parents to have his dad look everything over before we put it in the water. The previous owners haven't had it on water in about 5 or 6 years.

Right as we were pulling out of our cul de sac, Kyle made the comment that he didn't feel comfortable taking it on the freeway yet, so we were going to take the back roads. Fine with me.

The boat is from 1973 and a "classic" and I don't know how old the trailer is, but it was a bumpy ride. The trailer needs shocks on it or something because the movement of the boat/trailer was making our car feel like it was bouncing.

I don't know much when it comes to all of this kind of stuff, trailers, boats, pulling things behind us, etc. so I just go with the flow and trust that Kyle knows what he's talking about.

So we're riding along, getting stuck in some of the rush hour traffic, but thankfully we were going the opposite direction of most people.

We get to the street where we're going to turn from the main street to a side street. The light turned yellow right as we got to it so Kyle didn't have to slam on the brakes but he had to stop harder than is ideal when you're trailing something. We felt a BUMP and I asked Kyle what it was and if it was ok. He said it was just the hitch doing something and that it was fine. We go to turn the corner and we have to go up a slight hill. I don't know why but right as we were turning and going up, I looked in the side mirror and "oh, Oh, Oh Oh Oh OHHHHHH!!!!!" came out of my mouth as I watched the boat slide off the trailer.

Boom, crash, Scrraaaaaapppppppeeeeeee.

Kyle stopped as soon as he could, right in front of Wendy's. We were blocking the exit from the drive thru, but thankfully people could still get out.

Kyle looked at the boat, looked at me and said "I don't even know what to do" with tears in his eyes. This boat is his BABY that he's been working his ASS off to get. And now it was lying in the street.

I told him I was going to call his dad. Oh and we were LESS THAN A MILE from his parents house!

I couldn't get my fingers and my phone to work together.

I finally did and I called my MIL.

She answered and I said, "THE BOAT JUST SLID OFF THE TRAILER IN FRONT OF WENDY'S!!!"

She says, "What?"

"THE BOAT. JUST SLID OFF THE TRAILER. IN FRONT OF WENDY'S!!!"

"Ok, I'll get Greg!"

Click.

A few minutes later they showed up.

A guy in a car drives up and tells us he's got a tow truck at home and he'll come back to help.

Three guys come to help. A father/son were eating in Wendy's and I don't know if the third guy was in Wendy's too and came to help or if he just came upon us and stopped to help. It doesn't matter, we were just so grateful!

On the way there, I had been texting with my friend Megan about one of our classes for Fall quarter. She'd been at the college, which is a couple miles from where this happened.

Standing there on the side walk, looking towards the main street, I see Megan drive by. She sees the boat in the street and a few minutes later she drives up and sees that it's ME and OUR boat. So she parked and came and stood with me while this whole ordeal was going on. Oh, and she'd never met Kyle or my inlaws. Nice way to be introduced, huh?!

A cop shows up shortly before the tow truck and Kyle tells him the tow truck is on it's way. The cop blocks off the road in both directions! Let me remind you, this is rush hour time! Everyone is going home. The road is blocked off and a detour is set up. Sucky!!

So, what happened to cause this whole thing?

All three straps broke!

Kyle had looked at them and thought that they looked a little haggard but he didn't think that they needed immediate replacement, just something that he'd get to before too long.

Obviously, the cinch {cuz it broke too} and the straps had other things in mind.

It had also been POURING all day and towards the evening it decided to clear up. Can you imagine dealing with this mess in the rain?

See the broken straps dangling?

When we first saw the tow truck, which if you can't tell, is a NICE one, my MIL turned to me and said "So that looks like it's about a $500 tow truck bill, huh?"

And I'm thinking, "we've got x amount of dollars in our account and I haven't paid the mortgage yet. How are we going to afford this?"

Let me just list off the MIRACLES of this whole incident:

1. Kyle had the gut instinct to not take it on the freeway. Can you imagine what could've happened if this had happened on the freeway? People could've been killed!

2. NO ONE was behind us when the boat slid off!!

3. A guy with a tow truck drives up almost immediately after it happened.

4. There are still kind people in this world that JUMPED to help a couple of strangers.

5. The tow truck driver DIDN'T CHARGE US!! He left before Kyle even got the chance to TRY to give him something! My MIL talked to him and he said to just give him a couple of "attah boys" if the chance arises! I don't even know the name of his company. R&R Towing or something like that?

6. There is no body damage! Just a couple of scratches and the rutter and something else need to be replaced, about $300 worth.

After we got in the car to drive to my inlaws, I turned to Kyle and I told him that Jesus was SO looking out for us. There are so many things that could've gone wrong and things could've been 1000 times worse!

I Haven't Disappeared

It may seem like it, but I'm still around.

This is the end of the quarter and I've got clinical days that I'm doing {3 left} and my final in Phlebotomy is on Tuesday, so major studying going on around here.

I'll be around more once the quarter is over.

At about 9:30 am on Thursday, I'll be able to breathe again.

Until then, hold tight. I'll be back soon. Promise.

If you want to chat, I'm usually on Twitter between studying / homework because I've got to release my thoughts some how. Find me there. ;0)

Worship and Praise Sunday:Better Is One Day

How lovely is
Your dwelling place
Oh Lord Almighty,
For my soul doth long
And even faint
For You
Oh, here my heart
Is satisfied (is satisfied)
Within Your presence
I see beneath
The shadow of
Your wings

Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere
Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere
(Than thousands elsewhere)

One thing I ask,
And I would seek,
To see Your beauty
To find You in
The place Your glory dwells
(One thing I ask)
One thing I ask
And I would seek,
To see Your beauty
To find You in
The place Your glory dwells

Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere
Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts

Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere
Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere

(My heart and flesh cry out)
My heart and flesh cry out
For You, the Living God
Your Spirit's water to my soul
I've tasted, and I've seen
Come once again to me
I will draw near to You
I will draw near to You
To You

Better is one day
Better is one day
Better is one day
Than thousands elsewhere
Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house

I just really love this song and wanted to share it.

And yesterday we attended Kyle's grandpa's graveside and memorial. We know where he's standing right now; right beside Jesus. He's smiling down on us all and he's no longer in pain. He would be so proud of his grand kids for all of the wonderful memories they shared. I know I'm especially proud of Kyle and his brother, the two that don't speak in public settings.

Have a blessed Sunday!
