I Succumbed To The Pressure

Yeah. I did.

I now have my own blogfrog "Infertile Myrtle Community" over there to the right.

Will you please join it so I don't look like a loser with no friends? Haha!!

I'm still trying to figure everything out, but hopefully it'll become a place where people want to hang out and get to know each other more.

I know I've got a lot of readers that are dealing with infertility so maybe it'll be a place for all of you to congregate and share stories and experiences.

But don't think that it's only going to be for that purpose.

Not at all.

I hope you'll all use it to grow a special community where you can feel free to talk about whatever your little hearts desire.

So, go. Go now. Join.

Wordfulless Wednesday: Milo

Milo doesn't let me get a lot of pictures of him. He runs away whenever he sees my camera. But the camera on my phone doesn't make a sound so I've been able to get a couple of him lately while still laying in bed.

Don't mind my messy bed. I'm bad and hardly ever make it.

Mom Update

Sorry for not updating sooner!!

We got to the clinic yesterday afternoon and my mom got all signed in.

One of the guys there led us into this bathroom / locker room where she got changed. I wasn't just taking a picture of her in the bathroom. LOL She was glaring at me for taking pictures. heehee

Then we were led back to a room where they got all the info and gave all the info that was needed and got her prepped.

Marking where she's going to cut.

See? All ready.

And thankfully, all my fretting, was for nothing. They didn't put her out and only numbed the area that was being worked on. My mom had a little convo with one of the guys during the surgery.

Before I knew it, one of the techs was calling for me because she was already done! I swear it was less than half an hour! My mom said that there was a lot a pulling and grinding and stuff. Ugh. I can't imagine listening to that!

Then we had to go to Costco to get her prescription. She was SO hungry and the numbing was starting to wear off. So we opened up a bag of chips right there in the aisle so she could get something into her tummy and we walked around for the 15 minutes the lady said it would be until her prescription was ready. We went back to the pharmacy and her prescription was still pending. We waited awhile longer and then my mom went and "made some noise", basically just told another lady there that she'd just had surgery and had been waiting for a LONG time when the prescription had been called in over 2 hours before and it still wasn't ready. After this lady moved her prescription paperwork to the top, it was finally ready.

We wrapped her hand in a plastic bag because it was POURING outside and her hand couldn't get wet. Plus it still had the orange-y disinfectant on it and looked icky.

We went back to her house and my sister met us there. We hung out and ate and then watched The Blind Side. My sister left around 8pm and I left when the movie was over.

I called my mom this morning and she's not feeling so hot today. I'll be going over there later to hang out and do whatever she needs.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!!

Welcome To Monday!

Well, it's Monday morning. How did we make it here again? It comes around way too fast!

It's a stormin' outside today. NOT a good day for that! I'll tell you why in a minute.

Kyle forgot his phone. It's sitting here on the desk blinking at me with missed calls.

I've got my hot coffee, in my porcelain Starbucks mug, Christmas Edition.

Still rubbing sleep out of my eyes.

Thinking that I still need to do my background check, online, for school. I'll be back to it {school} next week.

We had a visitor on Saturday. Did you see?

I finally have all my sponsors for my week of giveaways! So excited for you guys to see what's in store. Coming soon...mid-April, depending on how many posts I get up in the next week or two. This is post 482. ;0)

Have you noticed I haven't been doing "Not Me!" Monday? It was getting annoying to write and I'm taking a break from it for awhile.

So.

Today.

Today is the day that my mom is having surgery. It's a routine surgery, for carpel tunnel. She had carpel tunnel about 20 years ago (!!) and it went away after she basically stopped typing for three years, but it's come back with a vengeance the last year or two. It's especially bad in her left arm, which is strange to me because she's right handed. Anyway, so she's having surgery and I'm SO NERVOUS!! Not for the surgery itself. I'm sure that will go just fine. But for the post-surgery stuff.

I'm the one that is taking her to the surgery and I'll be with her all day. I can only remember one time in my life that she's had surgery and I'm pretty sure she had her tubes tied. I was in about 7th or 8th grade and I just remember her being in the bathroom, puking. A bit unnerving if you ask me. Not something you ever want to hear your parent do!

And today, I'm worried that I'm not going to know how to take care of her...or that I'LL get sick if she pukes from the anesthesia. Is she going to be able to get into my car? Am I going to be able to get her into and out of my car? {I have a Dodge Durano...it's pretty high and not likely she'll be able to "hop" right up.} She also has a lot of stairs, concrete stairs, leading from the road where we park, down to her house. I don't know how coherent she's going to be. Am I going to have to basically "carry" her down to her house? Or should I park down below, under the porch and try to go UP to her house {which is steep, too}. Am I going to be able to turn the alarm off quickly enough when we get in the house? Is she going to eat? What kinds of things will she likely eat? Is she going to sleep all day? Is me being there just during the day going to be enough or should I stay the night? What if she has to go to the bathroom? Am I going to have to help her?

Oh. My. Gosh.

See? I'm making myself crazy with all of this unknown stuff!!

Please. Will you send prayers for both of us? For her that everything will go smoothly and for me that I'll know what to do to help her!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

I'll update later. Oh, the surgery is at 2:30 pm.

Worship and Praise Sunday: Hallelujah (Your Love is Amazing)

Hallelujah (Your Love is Amazing)
Brian Doerksen

Your love is amazing, steady and unchanging
Your love is a mountain, firm beneath my feet
Your love is a mystery, how You gently lift me
When I am surrounded, Your love carries me

CHORUS

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Your love makes me sing
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Your love makes me sing

Your love is surprising, I can feel it rising
All the joy that's growing deep inside of me
Every time I see You, all Your goodness shines through
And I can feel this God song, rising up in me

REPEAT CHORUS

REPEAT FIRST VERSE

REPEAT CHORUS

Yes, You make me sing
Lord, You make me sing, sing, sing
How You make me sing

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This song gets your blood pumpin and your toes tappin. I love to sing it in church and just lift my praises to God.
I hope it makes you smile today!
Have a great Sunday!!!
Six Word Saturday:
I went RED! Do ya like?
I spent a very, very, VERY long time at the salon yesterday.
My sister started with doing a partial foil with brown and red. When it was done processing, the brown was the same color as my natural color and the red looked pink because of the blonde in my hair. She wasn't happy so she told her supervisor. Her supervisor suggested that she do it again, but with darker colors. So she did that, along with chunkier pieces. It still didn't look right. I have a lot of gray {cry} and it wasn't getting covered up and while the color looked better it still wasn't great.
So they discussed it again and her supervisor suggested doing an all over color and then chucks of another and see what that did. So my sister did {almost} black on the bottom half of my hair and this bright red on the top {and since she'd previously put {almost} black chunks in, they came through nicely after the red was all processed}.
I've always said that I would never go all red, but I actually like it. Although I'm still getting used to it. Kyle LOVES it. He told me that my hair is sexy. ;0)
A blonde and a redhead met in a bar after work for a drink, and were
watching the 6 O'clock news. A man was shown threatening to jump from the Brooklyn Bridge.
The blonde bet the redhead $50 that he wouldn't jump, and the redhead
replied, "I'll take that bet!" Anyway, sure enough, he jumped, so the blonde
gave the redhead the $50.
The redhead said "I can't take this, you're my friend".
The blonde said "No. A bet's a bet".
So the redhead said "Listen, I have to admit, I saw this on the 5 O'clock
news, so I can't take your money".
"Well, so did I", said the blonde, "but I never thought he'd jump again!"
Friday Fragments / Aloha Friday: Spring Break Edition
This week has been so uneventful.
I'm kind of bored with myself.
Since I've been doing homework for the past three months and now I have nothing to do, I'm just kinda lost.
Those of you that commented on my "Keepin It Real" post, I wasn't posting that picture for any other reason than I thought it'd be kind of funny. Your comments telling me that I'm beautiful despite the just waking up, no make up on look were so nice! Thank you. They definitely made me feel good, although I had to laugh too. I think I look so 'Blah'. LOL But again, thank you!!
On Wednesday, I ventured out into the world for the first time in days. How pathetic is that? I went to the bank and to meet with one of my BFF's at Target, since she needed to get some things and then we had lunch at Red Robin. It felt so good to get out of the house! The only other thing I've done in DAYS is take a walk around the next neighborhood over. I'm not sure how far Chewy and I walked but I'm thinking it was around 3 or 4 miles. It's been SO LONG since I've done any sort of exercise that my hips and ankles have been killing me since then! So sad!
I started reading a book that I was sent to review MONTHS ago. I'm not exactly being drawn into it. I'm kind of glad that it's only 168 pages. I'm on page 75 or so.
I've been working on a scarf for way too long, and I picked it up and started working on IT again too.
I've cleaned the kitchen a couple times but haven't done too much else.
My life is B-O-R-I-N-G.
I'm kind of sad that I have so many visitors here but hardly anyone says anything. Why do you think that is? I've held off on saying anything, but I just feel like saying something now. I think it's because I'm boring. And yes, this is a woah-is-me comment. I've got a few different blog tracker thingys on here and I can see how many people are visiting at any given time and where they're coming from {another blog, google search, etc}. Some times people are here for just a minute or so but others are here for upwards of an hour! I'd love to have those of you that are lurkers comment and tell me your stories and what's brought you here my little ole blog. I'm always up for meeting new friends and finding out how you found me. Maybe it's the wine talking tonight {since I'm writing this Thursday night and I'm indulging in a glass...or two} but I'd love to have more interaction with you, my readers and followers!!
Enough of that...I'm still looking for more giveaway sponsors. I've gotten a few so far and I'm really excited about them. I can't wait to show them all to you!!
I want to go see my cousin Eve and the rest of the fam that lives in Eastern WA but I'm waiting for Kyle to tell me whether or not he's up for going over the mountains in the near future. *tapping my toes*
My school books and everything else I need have been ordered for school. Now, I just need to get my butt to the Heath Department to get my immunizations. Ugh! I don't wanna go though! But I have to, so I will.
I've been taking lots of pictures of Chewy and Milo in the mornings. I love that my phone takes pretty good pictures and that it makes no sound so Milo doesn't run away quite so often when I bring the camera up on my phone. heehee Maybe I'll post some next week.
My mom is having carpel tunnel surgery on Monday. I told her that I'd bring her and I'm so glad that I can be there for her since she does so much for me, but I've never seen my mom 'out of it' and I'm kind of nervous about it.
I signed up for a 'Bible in One Year' thing and have yet to start. Bad Megan. I really need to read my Bible more often. I think it would help with my anxiety, among other things if I was dedicated to spending time in The Word. It's a daily battle for me. Blah!
It's 9:30 pm and hubby just text that he's FINALLY on his way home!! I do NOT like it when he works so late. Poor bebe!! =( It's probably going to be an hour before he gets home, too since he's in West Seattle...apparently he's working for a local celebrity today. I guess the guy was part of the grunge music scene at the same time as Curt Cobain! Pretty crazy!
Today, I'm going to feel like a new person! I haven't had my hair done since the middle of DECEMBER!! My sister started at a new salon recently and I'm going to see her and get my hair done. I'm SO looking forward to it!! Sounds like it's a pretty amazing salon.
Kailani says: In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
My question is:
Since this is Spring Break for so many people, do you have any Spring Break plans? Going anywhere fun? Doing anything out of the ordinary?
Pineapple Sweet & Sour Chicken and a Product Review
I told you a couple weeks ago that I was going to be doing a review on Calphalon Cookware for CSN Stores, right?
Well I got my box!!
This box is HUGE! Aside from this cookware not needing a box this big, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it!
But before I tell you about the cookware, let me remind you about CSN Stores.
They have over 200 online stores! Anything you can think of, they've likely got.
Based in Boston, CSN Stores LLC began in 2002 and has grown rapidly into a Top 3 online U.S. retailer of home and office goods with 400+ employees.
Amazing, huh?!
I was really excited when they contacted me. As I mentioned before, the pans I have are close to 10 years old and I was just noticing recently how the pan I cook with the most is starting to chip or peel or...something. It's not looking good. SO, to be able to try out some new pans and ones with such a great reputation...I couldn't wait!
I was sent 12" and 10" Calphalon Cookware pans. I think the one I currently have, that's used the most, is either 9" or 10". I've also been wanting a larger pan so the 12" is the one that I started with.
I decided to break in the pan, I was going to make Pineapple Sweet & Sour Chicken.
Grab a glass of wine, and follow me into the kitchen.
The recipe is as follows:
2 Cups of rice. I use Minute rice. Cook it and set it aside.
1 can (20 oz.) Dole Pineapple Chunks
2 Tbsps vegetable oil (I used olive oil)
1 medium green or red bell pepper, cut into chunks
1 medium onion, cut into chunks
1/2 cup mushrooms (I omitted them because we don't like our mushrooms cooked, Kyle especially.)
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 cup sweet & sour sauce
2 Tbsps less sodium soy sauce
Drain pineapple; reserve 2 Tbsps of juice.
Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat.
I don't measure my oil. I just pour in whatever I think looks good.
Add peppers, onion and mushrooms; cook until vegetables are tender crisp.
Remove vegetables from skillet; set aside.
Cook chicken in same skillet until chicken is browned and cooked through.
Add vegetables back to skillet with sweet & sour sauce, soy sauce, pineapple chunks and reserved juice. Heat through.
{I also added a tiny bit of corn starch to thicken it up a bit}
Serve with hot, cooked rice.
Serves 6
{Yeah right! Hubby and I ate it all. LOL}
I LOVE these pans!! This 12" pan, especially, is going to be my Go-To pan from now on.
Thank you CSN Stores for the opportunity to review these pans for you!!
Disclaimer: I was given these pans to review and keep.
Dear Anxiety:
I don't know why you've decided to make an appearance into my life.
All of a sudden.
After having been dormant for quite a while.
I'm perfectly fine when you're away.
I don't like you.
You make it feel like there's waves in my stomach and chest.
You put a suffocating lump in my throat.
You make me cough to try to get rid of you.
It doesn't work.
You can scram now.
Beat it.
Out of here!
I don't need you in my life.
Especially when I don't know why you're here!
Leave.
Buh-bye!
Thankyouverymuch.
Four. Point. Oh.
Well, almost.
I have a 4.0 in two classes and 3.8 in the other!!!
Can I just say how frickin EXCITED and PROUD of myself I am?
Completely!!
Do you remember my posts from before the quarter started? I was scared out of my ever-lovin-mind! But I survived that first day and I survived every day after.
On my Intro to Health Care final, I got 45 out of 50. On my Medical Terminology final I got 118 out of 122 (only 2 questions wrong!) and on my Human Body final I got 71 out of 83 (ugh! I was not confident for this test, at all!). Over all, SO HAPPY!!!
My overall GPA is 3.9333333 (you get the picture). SO CLOSE to 4.0!! GAH!!
Anywho...
Do you remember me telling you about the loud, obnoxious guy that was in a study group with me? He became increasingly annoying and also a MOOCH!!
He "borrowed" money from a couple of the ladies in the group and never paid them back.
He asked one lady if he could have her coffee cup and then proceeded to basically beg another girl for her coffee that she'd brought with her {in a thermos} right after. My friend {Megan} offered *part* of her sandwich to him because she's just nice like that and he had NO problem accepting it, which is fine...that was just the first instance of his moochy-ness.
We all learned our lesson with him.
He's taking Intro to Health Care this next quarter and I've just finished that class. He offered to buy my book from me INSISTING that the college bookstore wouldn't give me as much for it as he would.
Now, I paid $68 for this USED book. I was hoping to get at least $50 for it. Mooch offered me $40 and I wasn't sure what to say so I said, "sure." Another friend {Danielle} told me that she got $45 from the bookstore for her Intro book. I debated for over a week, and especially on Friday morning, if I was going to still sell it to Mooch for $40 or if I was going to lie and tell him someone had offered me $60. I didn't want to be a bitch {or lie}, but I also wanted more for my book. I was going over my conflicted feelings about it with Danielle. When we finally saw him before our final on Friday, he asked me if I'd brought it for him to buy. I said that I had. He started in again about how the bookstore wasn't going to give me more than he was offering and both my friends, Megan & Danielle, told him that I'd sell my book to him for $45. And when Mooch was getting rather insistent that I wouldn't get any more than $40 for it, Danielle yelled at him and said that she got $45 for her book at the bookstore. I felt kind of bad for him, but he was just being an idiot. So he was like "Ooookkkkk, $45 it is. So glad you brought your manager with you today!" LMAO!! I'm glad that they spoke up for me because I felt stuck since I'd already told him I'd sell it to him for $40. Ahhhh. D-R-A-M-A!! I'm so glad that I have no other classes with him!
The new quarter starts on April 5th, but I think my classes start on the 6th since I've only got two classes and they're both on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We haven't been able to register for the externship yet. They're doing it different this next quarter and the instructors have to go through all of our paperwork first. Meaning, they have to make sure that we've taken all the pre-reques that are required, we've had all of our immunizations and we've passed our background check. Once that's all been OK'ed, then we'll register and figure out where and when that'll start and take place.
I ordered my scrubs, shoes, stethescope and gait belt the other day. So excited. Is it weird that I'm excited to wear scrubs? LOL We have to wear them to class as well as to the externship. I bought two different "styles", I guess, of scrubs and I bought some "nurse" shoes. Wanna see? Ok, twist my arm...
{My Netbook screen isn't very big so I had to cut off part of the pictures...but you get the idea...and our color is Hunter Green.}
Cute? Sure, for scrubs. LOL
Getting my immunization stuff figured out has been a bit of a chore! A couple weeks ago, I called my doctors office to find out which shots I had gotten since I'd started going there, and when I had started going there. Come to find out, I started going to that doctor in October of 1999. And I've had NO shots since then! Crap!
So, I had to call the hospital I was born at. I had to send in a letter requesting my immunization report from birth to October of 1999. It's now been probably three'ish weeks since I sent the letter and I've heard NOTHING.
Because I wasn't hearing anything from the hospital I asked my mom if there was ANY CHANCE that she still had my immunization report and if so, if she knew where it was. Turns out that she DID still have it, THANKYOUGOD!! and she was able to find it and give it to me. Even if she hadn't had it, there's a blood test to find out if I have the antibodies for the different immunizations, but I'm trying to do this as inexpensively as possible.
The inconvenient thing is that when I was born, they didn't give the Hep B vaccination. So I have to get that. And it takes 6 months to get the whole series. Thankfully, I've had two MMR's already so I don't have to worry about that. But now I also have to get a tetanus shot because it's been more than 10 years since I've had one and I have to get the 2-series TB shots. And the worse part of all of this is that I have NO INSURANCE so I have to go to the Health Department to get them and they charge you each time you go in plus the amount of the shots. It's going to cost me a couple hundred dollars to get up-to-date for school! Oh and because the Hep B takes 6 months to get the whole series, we can still start our externship with proof of having 2 done. But they have to be completed within a month of each other. And the externship is supposed to start on week 7 of the quarter so I'm a bit pinched for time! So much to do, so much to think about!
Whew!
That's my school update, I guess. Other things have been happening as well, but they'll have to wait for a another day.
I was at my friend Megan's this week studying and looking up some immunization stuff online. Megan checked her email and she had this in her inbox. We sat there crying from laughing so hard. I had to have her send it to me so I could share these with you all. Enjoy!!
EMBARRASSING MEDICAL EXAMS
1. A man comes into the ER and yells . . .'My wife's going to have her baby in the cab.'
I grabbed my stuff, rushed out to the cab, lifted the lady's dress and began to take off her underwear. Suddenly I noticed that there were several cabs - - - and I was in the wrong one.
Submitted by Dr. Mark MacDonald,
San Francisco
2. At the beginning of my shift, I placed a stethoscope on an elderly and slightly deaf female patient's anterior chest wall. 'Big breaths,' I instructed. 'Yes, they used to be,' replied the patient.
Submitted by Dr. Richard Byrnes,
Seattle , WA
3. One day I had to be the bearer of bad news when I told a wife that her husband had died of a massive myocardial infarct. Not more than five minutes later, I heard her reporting to the rest of the family that he had died of a 'massive internal fart.'
Submitted by Dr. Susan Steinberg
4. During a patient's two week follow-up appointment with his cardiologist, he informed me, his doctor, that he was having trouble with one of his medications. 'Which one?' I asked.
'The patch. The nurse told me to put on a new one every six hours and now I'm running out of places to put it!'
I had him quickly undress and discovered what I hoped I wouldn't see.
Yes, the man had over fifty patches on his body!
Now, the instructions include removal of the old patch before applying a new one.
Submitted by Dr. Rebecca St. Clair,
Norfolk , VA
5. While acquainting myself with a new elderly patient, I asked, 'How long have you been bedridden?' After a look of complete confusion she answered, 'Why, not for about twenty years -- since my husband was alive.'
Submitted by Dr. Steven Swanson-
Corvallis , OR
6. I was performing rounds at the hospital one morning and while checking up on a man I asked, 'So how's your breakfast this morning?' 'It's very good except for the Kentucky Jelly. I can't seem to get used to the taste,' Bob replied. I then asked to see the jelly and Bob produced a foil packet labeled 'KY Jelly.'
Submitted by Dr. Leonard Kransdorf,
Detroit, MI
7. A nurse was on duty in the Emergency Room when a young woman with purple hair styled into a punk rocker Mohawk, sporting a variety of tattoos, and wearing strange clothing, entered. . . . It was quickly determined that the patient had acute appendicitis, so she was scheduled for immediate surgery. When she was completely disrobed on the operating table, the staff noticed that her pubic hair had been dyed green and above it there was a tattoo that read 'Keep off the grass.'
Once the surgery was completed, the surgeon wrote a short note on the patient's dressing which said 'Sorry . . . had to mow the lawn.'
Submitted by RN no name
AND FINALLY!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
8. As a new, young MD doing his residency in OB. I was quite embarrassed when performing female pelvic exams... To cover my embarrassment I had unconsciously formed a habit of whistling softly. The middle-aged lady upon whom I was performing this exam suddenly burst
out laughing and further embarrassing me. I looked up from my work and sheepishly said. . .
'I'm sorry. Was I tickling you?' She replied with tears running down her cheeks from laughing so hard . . .
'No doctor but the song you were whistling was . . .'I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Wiener.' '
Dr. wouldn't submit his name....
Keepin It Real
Yes, I had just woken up.
No, I do not have make up on.
Yes, my hair is a mess.
No, I am not a morning person.
Yes, I've got deep, dark circles under my eyes.
No, I have not gotten enough sleep lately.
Just keepin' it real.
Buried...
These are all of my Medical Terminology flashcards from this quarter and our final exam is a review of them all! Kinda freakin out about that. I remember what lots of them are but certainly not all!!! My final is on Thursday morning so this is what I'm up to till then.
Friday is my final in Human Body but it's not a review of EVERYTHING, just the last 4 chapters. So if you can't find me it's cuz I'm buried under these and my other flashcards that aren't pictured.
Worship and Praise Sunday: The Wonderful Cross
The Wonderful Cross
Matt Redmond & Chris Tomlin
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride
See from his head, his hands, his feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown
O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
All who gather here by grace draw near and bless
Your name
Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all
Chris Tomlin is such an awesome artist and he's one of those artists that seems to have a gazillion worship songs that all say something that gets you right in the heart. Love him and his songs. He's so gifted.
This is another of his songs and one that is regularly sang in church. I never tire of it.
Have a great Sunday!!!
One Blonde To Another
A blonde woman was having financial troubles so she decided to kidnap a child and demand a ransom. She went to a local park, grabbed a little boy, took him behind a tree and wrote this
note.
"I have kidnapped your child. I am sorry to do this but I need the money. Leave $10,000 in a plain brown bag behind the big oak tree in the park at 7 AM."
Signed, "The Blonde".
She pinned the note inside the little boy's jacket and told him to go straight home. The next morning, she returned to the park to find the $10,000 in a brown bag behind the big oak tree, just as she had instructed.
Inside the bag was the following note.
"Here is your money. I cannot believe that one blonde would do this to another."
The Smart Blonde
A blonde and a lawyer are seated next to each other on a flight from LA to NY. The lawyer asks if she would like to play a fun game? The blonde, tired, just wants to take a nap, politely declines and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks. The lawyer persists and explains that the game is easy and a lot of fun. He explains, “I ask you a question, and if you don’t know the answer, you pay me $5.00, and vise versa.”
Again, she declines and tries to get some sleep.
The lawyer, now agitated, says, “Okay, if you don’t know the answer you pay me $5.00, and if I don’t know the answer, I will pay you $500.00.”
This catches the blonde’s attention and, figuring there will be no end to this torment unless she plays, agrees to the game.
The lawyer asks the first question. “What’s the distance from the earth to the moon?”
The blonde doesn’t say a word, reaches into her purse, pulls out a $5.00 bill and hands it to the lawyer. “Okay,” says the lawyer, “your turn”.
She asks the lawyer, “What goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four legs?”
The lawyer, puzzled, takes out his laptop computer and searches all his references, no answer. He taps into the air phone with his modem and searches the net and the library of congress, no answer. Frustrated, he sends e-mail to all his friends and coworkers, to no avail. After an hour, he wakes the blonde, and hands her $500.00.
The blonde says, “Thank you,” and turns back to get some more sleep.
The lawyer, who is more than a little miffed, wakes the blonde and asks, “Well, what’s the answer?”
Without a word, the blonde reaches into her purse, hands the lawyer $5.00, and goes back to sleep.
