Happy Birthday To My Bestest Friend!!

Today is my Best Friend's Birthday.

Jewel turns 30 today!! Woohoo!! Now she's "old" like me. Heehee!!

Her and I have been friends since 6th grade. We used to get into a bunch of mischief together that has caused us some embarrassment over the years, but without that, we wouldn't have the fun(ny) memories that we have today.

I also know that I can talk to her about anything and she'll understand or at least lend an ear. She has five kids and I have none. She has been there for me to whine too and I know it's been hard for her to tell me each time that she was pregnant. She's never made me feel bad about complaining about my infertility. I appreciate her friendship more than she probably knows. We don't see each other nearly enough but we have so much fun together the times that we do get to spend together.

Love you, Jewel!! I hope that today is all that you dreamed it would be!!

{And hopefully Bill is spoiling you rotten! You deserve it!!}

Everyone, go wish Jewel a Happy, Happy Birthday!!!

A Blonde Goes On Who Wants To Be A Millionaire

Regis: "Barbara, you've done very well so far - $500,000 and one lifeline left -- phone a friend.

The next question will give you the top prize of One Million dollars if you get it right ... but if you get it wrong you will drop back to $32,000 -- are you ready?"

Barbara: "Sure, I'll have a go!"

Regis: "Which of the following birds does not build it's own nest?

Is it........

A-Robin

B-Sparrow

C-Cuckoo

D-Thrush

Remember Barbara its worth 1 Million dollars."

"I think I know who it..but I'm not 100%...

No, I haven't got a clue. I'd like to phone a friend Regis, just to be sure.

Regis: "Yes, who, Barbara, do you want to phone?

Barbara: "I'll phone my friend Maggie back home in Birmingham."

(ringing)

Maggie (also a blonde): "Hello..."

Regis: "Hello Maggie, its Regis here from Who Wants to be a Millionaire-I have Barbara here and she is doing really well on $500,000, but needs your help to be a Million.

The next voice you hear will be Barbara's and she'll read you the question.

There are 4 possible answers and 1 correct answer and you have 30 seconds to answer -- fire away Barbara."

Barbara: "Maggie, which of the following birds does not build it's own nest? Is it:

A-Robin

B-Sparrow

C-Cuckoo

D-Thrush"

Maggie: "Oh Gees, Barbara that's simple.....It's a Cuckoo."

Barbara: "You think?"

Maggie: "I'm sure."

Barbara: " Thanks Maggie." (hangs up)

Regis: "Well, do you want to stick on $500,000 or play on for the Million, Barbara?"

Barbara: "I want to play, I'll go with C-Cuckoo"

Regis: "Is that your final answer?"

Barbara: "It is."

Regis: "Are you confident?"

Barbara: "Yes fairly, Maggie's a sound bet."

Regis: "Barbara.....you had $500,000 and you said C-Cuckoo ...you're right! - You have just won ONE MILLION DOLLARS.

Here is your check. You have been a great contestant and a real gambler. Audience please put your hands together for Barbara."

(clapping)

That night Barbara calls round to Maggie and brings her down to a local bar for a celebration drink and, as they are sipping their Champagne, Barbara turns to Maggie and asks "Tell me Maggie, How in God's name did you know that it was the Cuckoo that does not build its own nest?

Maggie: "Listen Barbara, everybody knows that a Cuckoo lives in a clock."

Grumpy Grumperton

That would be me.

The weather outside is frightful matching my mood. Rainy, cloudy, dreary.

I had to get up before the "sun" this morning in order to have Chewy to the Vet by 7am for his Comprehensive Exam, that I apparently forgot about at the beginning of the month and had to reschedule for today.

Kyle apparently doesn't realize that he shouldn't talk to me in the morning because he pretty much got his head bitten off since he was asking me questions he already knew the answers to, therefore DUMB QUESTIONS. Ugh! I hate that. Plus, just don't talk to me before I'm fully awake. I'm NOT a morning person!

I'm pretty sure I'm PMS'ing.

My left ovary has been bothering me almost all week. First it was feeling like it was being pinched. Then it felt like I had a cyst that was about to rupture {which has happened two times in the past 7 or 8 years, so not a lot, thankfully}. I had stabby pains in it for the past couple days and just that alone has been draining me since it makes me not feel well and also a bit nauseous.

Then I also feel pain in my uterus. I don't know what this is all about. All this damn pain in my nether regions.

Yesterday I was also having, what I think was, kidney pain. No idea what THAT was about.

I think my medical classes are going to my head. I seriously feel like a hypochondriac. It doesn't help that we don't have insurance so I CAN'T go to the doctor if I really needed to.

I hate to admit this but it's been, I think, three years?? since I had my "woman" appointment. That makes me nervous, too.

I swear, I got behind every. damn. slowpoke. on the road today. ARGH!!!

Last night was FINALLY the women's figure skating...and I FELL ASLEEP!! I woke up in time for the medal ceremony. Dumb! I can't believe there were no American's on that podium! That's just not right! I'm happy for the Korean because it seems like, from all the coverage, that she'd pretty much be disowned from her country if she DIDN'T get the Gold. But STILL!! And Joannie {sp?}. I'm glad that she was up there. I can't believe she skated so well having just lost her mom!! So sad, but she was pretty amazing!! And thank God for OnDemand so I could actually see the performances!

So Chewy's now home from the Vet and he is now 100.7 pounds!! They said that he's slightly overweight. Dangnabbit! Guess we'll have to start reducing his food. I feel like he doesn't really eat that much though. I fill his bowl and it takes him two days to eat what's in there. But the Vet gave me a measuring cup and it's tiny! So I guess the food I am giving him is too much.

I registered for two classes yesterday for Spring quarter. Turns out we can't register for the Externship until after Spring quarter starts and they've done a background check on us. Makes things a little more complicated, but at least I got the classes that I needed.

We should have The Hangover in the mail from Netflix today. So I think tonight, or probably tomorrow more likely, will be spent watching one of the best movies ever!! It isn't a movie for the faint of heart and I so would NEVER watch it with my parents, but it was FRICKIN HILARIOUS and I can't wait to watch it again!!

Well, this Grumpy Grumperton is going to go and do more homework. I've got a TON to do this weekend and into next week. Fun times.

Have a great weekend!!

I Have A Headache

Yes, yes I do. Ugh!

Now that I've got that out of the way...

Last week Kyle came home sick. I'm blaming it on my stupid cousin {his business partner, if you don't remember me mentioning that before} because he was coughing in Kyle's face all week. And Kyle is hardly ever sick. He's not pukey sick, but stuffed up nose, sniffles, just doesn't feel good, sick. I'd ask him to do something and he'd be like "I can't. I'm sick." Men!

Saturday evening I hard-boiled a dozen eggs. Then I fell asleep on the couch watching the Olympics. So even though I put the eggs in a bowl of ice water, obviously it didn't stay icey till morning. Kyle went into the kitchen on Sunday morning and reminded me that the eggs were still sitting there. Dang nabbit!! But guess what? I put them back into the egg carton and stuck them in the fridge AND I've eaten probably 3 or 4 of them since. They don't seem to have done anything except make my pee smell like rotten eggs. haha!

My right leg / butt cheek hurt from kicking tennis balls for Chewy at the dog park the yesterday. I guess it's more exercise than that leg has seen in awhile. LOL

This morning on my way to school I saw a window sticker that said "Body piercings saved my life." Um...ok? Really? I took a picture but I don't think you can really see it.

Registration for next quarter is on Thursday! Holy Crap!! This is what I did today:

Class till 12:20.

Friend Megan and I went to the registration building to find out exactly when we'd be able to register since it's different depending on how many credits and the programs you're in, etc.

Talk to the guy and find out that Megan can register on Feb 25th but I can't until March 1st because I haven't gotten a specific form in yet. CRAP!

Try to make an appt with an adviser to get that form filled out. Nothing available till March 2nd! Not cool. Make the appt but find out that if one of the teachers for the program is available to fill out the form that will work too.

Run over to another building looking for our human body teacher. Gone.

Run over to another building looking for our Intro to Health Care teacher and find her in the break room and she tells us to go next door into her office. YES!

She fills out my form and answers some other questions. I find out that for Summer Quarter I'll only have 7 credits and I need to have 12 for unemployment so I find a 5 quarter class {Psychology 100} to add even though I don't need it for the program I'm in.

Run to another building and turn in that form and another one and tell them that I need it processed by the 25th so I can register. An adviser in there finds out that she's able to change some coding in the computer herself that allows me to register online on the 25th and tells me that if, for some reason, I'm not able I can call her and we'll do it over the phone. SCORE!

Breath.

I think we hit almost every building on campus for this whole rig-a-ma-role!

Whew!!

Once I register, I'll be in classes for Basic Patient Care, CNA, CNA Externship and Phlebotomy.

AND I also found out last week that I was approved to be able to NOT look for a job while in school. YAY!!!

Came home and took two online quizzes. Thankfully we have three chances for each one but for one chapter I can NOT figure out the answer to three of the multiple choice to save my life. I have one more try but I'm waiting a little bit before I do it again.

It's been quite the day.

And I still have a headache.

Worship and Praise Sunday: Create In Me A Clean Heart

Create In Me A Clean Heart

Keith Green

Create in me a clean heart, oh God

And renew a right spirit within me.

Create in me a clean heart, oh God,

And renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from thy presence oh Lord,

And take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.

Restore unto me, the joy of Thy Salvation,

And renew a right spirit within me.

Sing it together -

Create in me a clean heart, oh God

And renew a right spirit within me.

Create in me a clean heart, oh God,

And renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from thy presence oh Lord,

And take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.

Restore unto me, the joy of Thy Salvation,

And renew a right spirit within me.

Create in me a clean heart, oh God

Sing it to Jesus - Close your eyes and worship Him.

Create in me a clean heart, oh God,

And renew a right spirit within me.

Create in me a clean heart, oh God,

And renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from thy presence oh Lord,

And take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.

Restore unto me, the joy of Thy Salvation,

And renew a right spirit within me.

Going old school here. This song is from the 80's, the time in which I grew up. I remember singing this song on a regular basis, with my dad playing guitar. Sometimes in church, sometimes at his house. My BFF, Jewel, reminded me of this artist that I haven't thought of in a very long time, when she posted about him recently. Thanks Jewel! =)

If you would like to purchase this CD, you can do that through this link.

Hope you have a great day!!

Six Word Saturday:

Cookie Lee Party. Worth Going To?

I'm supposed to go to one at my neighbor's house tonight and, honestly, I don't want to. I love Pampered Chef so I'm always up for that, but I don't wear a lot of jewelry so I'm thinking it's going to be sort of lame. I've been told it's also going to be purses and "home decor". Hmmm...

A little old lady goes to the doctor and says,

"Doctor I have this problem with gas, but it really doesn't bother me too much. My farts never smell and are always silent. As a matter of fact, I've farted at least 20 times since I've been here in your office. You didn't know I was farting because they don't smell and are silent."

The doctor says, "I see, take these pills and come back to see me next week."

The next week the lady comes back. "Doctor," she says, "I don't know what the hell you gave me, but now my farts...although still silent...stink terribly."

The doctor says,"Good!!! Now that we've cleared up your sinuses, let's work on your hearing."

~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~

An old lady was in the restaurant yesterday when she suddenly realized she desperately needed to pass gas. The music was really, really loud, so she timed her gas with the beat of the music.

After a couple of songs, she started to feel better. She finished her coffee, and noticed that everybody was staring at her....

Then she suddenly remembered that she was listening to her iPod.

...and how was your day?

Fragmented Aloha Friday: I'm Ready For Some Random

Kailani says: In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My question is:

Are you watching the Olympics? What have you enjoyed the most, so far?

My answer:

I've watched everything, every day. There's some WEIRD "sports". Like the biathalon? I just dont' get that one. If you don't know what that is, it's cross country skiing and shooting targets. But I love watching the half pipe, both men's and women's. And the alpine skiing is pretty amazing too.

~~~~~~~
I started a diet yesterday. Today I am to only eat fruit and one sandwich. Right now I'm drinking a banana peach smoothy for breakfast. Yummy.
~~~~~~~

The sun is shining brightly today! Love it! Can not wait till summer when it's warm too.

~~~~~~~
I'm so glad I don't have school on Fridays.
~~~~~~~

I can not believe that it's already time to register for next quarters classes. This quarter has gone by quickly. There's less than a month left!

~~~~~~~
Kyle took this picture with his phone this morning and texted it to me. He titled it "Bums". LOL
{And I HATE our bedroom wall color. HATE. IT. Someday it'll get painted something else.}
~~~~~~~

Hey all you LURKERS, yup, talking to YOU!! Will you come out of hiding and tell me something about yourself or tell me what brings you to my blog? I'd love to hear from you!!

~~~~~~~
Hey all you REGULAR COMMENTERS, I love you!! Thanks for coming by and staying in touch with me even when I haven't been the best at making my way around the blogosphere, to do the same.
I think I'm going to take Chewy to the dog park today to play in the mud and the sun.
The Guiding Light...The Protector
Image from Google
I don't know what it was, but something triggered a memory for me last week. I wanted to share this story with you. I just think it's a cool representation of God's protection.
A few of the details are a bit foggy, but we'll just see where my fingers take us here.
When I was 19, I finally moved out of the apartment that I shared with my mom and my sister and I moved into a condo with {one of} my best friends, Riika.
During high school, and also a while after we graduated, Riika had gone through a few different cars. All used, of course. She was desperately needing a reliable car so she could get to work, etc.
Her dad split his time between a dinky town in southern Washington and a small town in Idaho. At the time of this story, he was living in Idaho.
I got a call one Friday while I was at work. It was Riika and she wanted to know if I'd like to go to Idaho that night. My reaction was confusion at first. Um...well...ok??? Why? Then she explained that her dad had gotten her a car, but that she'd need to drive to Idaho to get it. And, of course, she couldn't go alone because how else would she get two cars home? Plus, she didn't have a working vehicle at the time to begin with.
Now, I can't remember the name of the town he was in, but if I remember correctly it was supposed to be about a six hour drive. The town was just over the WA / ID border. So being the best friend that I am, I said that, of course, I'd go with her.
After I got home from work, we gathered our things and we headed out. There were no GPS's and we may possibly have only had a map. I don't remember if we had printed directions or not. Riika sort of knew where to go, but not completely. So, in a sense, we were sort of driving "blind". I had never driven to Idaho before so I really had no clue how to get there.
Along the way, we made some wrong turns and eventually found our way back to the way we should've been going. It just added a couple hours to our trip. ;0P
We were having fun chit chatting and singing to the music and just being goofy.
Eventually it started pouring. Like torrential down pours and I couldn't see where we were going. It was around this time that we were also going along a very windy road. I remember there was some sort of fields on either side of us...wheat or corn or something. But I could barely see the road.
When I'm with another person, and there's a reason to freak out, I'll usually do it internally so as to be strong for the other person. That was the case here.
I don't like to drive at night any way and then add in the pouring rain and little to no visibility...Yikes! So not fun!
So I was praying, Jesus please keep me on the road. I can't see where I'm going and I'm kind of freaking out here. Please keep us safe and let me be able to see through the dark and the rain.
Suddenly there was lightening.
I could see the bend in the road!
Oh wow! Riika! Did you see that lightning? That was AWESOME!!
Drive along some more.
Jesus, I still can't see the road.
Lightening.
Then another bend in the road up ahead.
It was amazing!
Every. single. time. I was worried I wouldn't be able to see the road from then on it would thunder and then LIGHTENING and I'd be able to see the road just enough.
I told Riika, you know that lightening is from God just for us, right? I've been praying that I'd be able to see the road and every time there's a bend in the road that I can't see there comes the lightening to light the way.
It was such a huge moment for me. I've never forgotten it.
It just goes to show that no matter what, big or small, Jesus is always there for us, and in this case it was in a very obvious way, and when I needed to feel him and know he was there the most. He guided our way. He was the guiding light in the darkness. He protected us and got us there safe and sound through the torential rain and pitch black. I couldn't thank him enough!
And these days, we're having financial issues. But I know he's there taking care of us because despite this horrible economy that we're all living in, Kyle and I have been able to pay our mortgage and other bills, Kyle is still getting work on a consistent basis and our needs are met and fulfilled.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this with you all and I hope it brings some encouragement to you if you're especially needing it right now.
Isaiah 42:16 I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.
Another Birthday!!
Today is my SIL's 24th birthday!! She's a crazy character and tons of fun to be around!! This picture was taken with my phone {so ignore the crappy quality...} a couple weeks ago while her and her husband were over playing Killer Bunnies with Kyle and me.
Happy Birthday, Heidi!!
We love you!!
Looks like we'll be going out to dinner for her birthday tomorrow night. Can't wait to hear where she's decided to go!! =)
My First Non-Single Valentine's Day
There's two posts today so don't forget to scroll down after you're done reading this one.
I wasn't going to post anything about Valentine's Day because it's not that big of a deal to me. But then I remembered I had written about Kyle's and my first Valentine's Day together in my diary from back then.
And before I post the entry, you must know that it took Kyle and I a LONG time to hold hands, hug and kiss...and it didn't happen all at the same time either. We were both very shy around each other. I was the biggest DORK when it came to writing about it all and it's actually quite embarrassing, but I'm going to post it anyway just because it's fun to reminisce and share my dorkiness with you all. And I thought that this entry was going to have something to do with this disclaimer but I guess it doesn't really. Oh well. Keeping it here anyway because it's still the truth. LOL
Also remember, I'm typing it as it appears in my diary...
February 19, 1995
Dear Diary,
I had a really fun time on Valentine's Day! Ok, Valentine's Day was on a Tuesday and Tuesdays at school is Youth Alive {Bible study, of sorts, before school}. We didn't have Youth Alive because we couldn't get the door open because the janitor was down at the bottom of the hill with a cop (Icey.). So we went to our locker and then to the cafiteria.
A little bit later Kyle and Marc {cousin, Kyle's best friend} came in. They were going to go to Youth Alive. Marc sat down and Kyle was standing up behind him (looking cute as always!). I was handing out my Valentine's and I handed Marc one of the little dalmation ones that I had, then I handed Kyle his card and Marc said that Kyle was spoiled. Then he went (Kyle) and sat down across from me and read the card. It was a really cute card. It was a dalmation and another little dog. The little dog had a red heart hanging from it's neck then it had heart shaped red glasses on. The front of the card said, "You're a great friend." On the inside it said, "With you I'm free to be me." and then I wrote some stuff. While he was reading his card I picked up his present and put it in front of him (Kyle). When I was talking to everyone else, Kyle got into his backpack and got out this little present and set it in front of me. I opened it and it was a jewelry box. Then I opened the jewelry box and it was these really pretty magenta, heart shaped earrings.
Krista told me that she saw them at BEST and that they were like $30. Then I showed them to my mom and showed her how tiny the backs were, she said that they were 24 karat gold. I felt bad because I didn't spend nearly that much on Kyle!....I wrote some other boring stuff...
Love, Megan
I love Kyle!!
P.S. Kyle liked his present I got him for Valentine's Day....more boring stuff...
Love, Megan (AGAIN)
Can we say DORK?!! haha!
Here's the earrings he gave me. Taken just a few minutes ago.
Kyle says I don't like them because I don't wear them any more. So not the case. I just figure they're better to keep as memories and possibly for a future daughter now.
What are some memories you have of Valentine's, past?
Worship and Praise Sunday: Nothing But The Blood
Your blood speaks a better word
Than all the empty claims I’ve heard upon this earth
Speaks righteousness for me
And stands in my defense
Jesus it’s Your blood
[Chorus]
What can wash away our sins?
What can make us whole again?
Nothing but the blood
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can wash us pure as snow?
Welcomed as the friends of God
Nothing but Your blood
Nothing but Your blood King Jesus
Your cross testifies in grace
Tells of the Father’s heart to make a way for us
Now boldly we approach
Not by earthly confidence
It’s only Your blood
[Chorus]
We thank You for the blood
We thank You for the blood
We praise You for the blood
We praise You for the blood
Nothing but Your blood
Nothing but Your blood King Jesus
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We've sung this song in church before but it's been awhile. I heard it recently and knew I wanted to share it for Worship & Praise Sunday. Just another one that I love. I think I can say that about almost all worship songs though. It's one of my favorite things to listen to.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
, everyone!!

Hope you have a great day!!

Six Word Saturday:

I'm SO excited for the Olympics!!

Do you look forward to the Olympics? What are your favorite parts?

We've been up to Whistler a handful of times since it was announced that the 2010 Winter Olympics were going to take place there and in Vancouver. We've watched as they've paved the new roads and built new things in preparation for all the people that are going to show up there. It's been amazing to see everything that they've done!

Figure skating is my FAVORITE part but I enjoy watching most of the other sports too. Watching what all of these athletes are able to accomplish leave me in awe and, a lot of times, choked up. You can just feel the pride that they're feeling. I love it!!

The closest we're ever going to get to the Olympics...at the top of Whistler / Blackholm mountains, December 2009.

Also, just wanted to say that I'm thinking about and praying for the family of Nodar Kumaritashvil, the luge guy from The Republic of Georgia, that lost his life during a practice run yesterday. So, so very sad!!

Skiing season training

Ski season is here!

16. Visit your local butcher and pay $30 to sit in the walk-in freezer for a half an hour. Afterwards, burn two $50 dollar bills to warm up.

15. Soak your gloves and store them in the freezer after every use.

14. Fasten a small, wide rubber band around the top half of your head before you go to bed each night.

13. If you wear glasses, begin wearing them with glue smeared on the lenses.

12. Throw away a hundred dollar bill-now.

11. Find the nearest ice rink and walk across the ice 20 times in your ski boots carrying two pairs of skis, accessory bag and poles. Pretend you are looking for your car. Sporadically drop things.

10. Place a small but angular pebble in your shoes, line them with crushed ice, and then tighten a C-clamp around your toes.

9. Buy a new pair of gloves and immediately throw one away.

8. Secure one of your ankles to a bed post and ask a friend to run into you at high speed.

7. Go to McDonald's and insist on paying $8.50 for a hamburger. Be sure you are in the longest line.

6. Clip a lift ticket to the zipper of your jacket and ride a motorcycle fast enough to make the ticket lacerate your face.

5. Drive slowly for five hours - anywhere - as long as it's in a snowstorm and you're following an 18 wheeler.

4. Fill a blender with ice, hit the pulse button and let the spray blast your face. Leave the ice on your face until it melts. Let it drip into your clothes.

3. Dress up in as many clothes as you can and then proceed to take them off because you have to go to the bathroom.

2. Slam your thumb in a car door. Don't go see a doctor.

1. Repeat all of the above every Saturday and Sunday until it's time for the real thing!

Fragmented Aloha Friday: Random, Tests, Tired

Kailani says: In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My question is:

Are you a fan of Valentine's Day or not? What are your plans for the "big" day?

My answer:

I'm not opposed to it, but because our anniversary and Kyle's birthdays just past, we don't usually do too much. I may or may not get roses and/or a card and Kyle will probably get a card and chocolate or something just because I want to get him something small.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This has been a crazy week studying for my exam in my human body class. I've been pretty sparse from the blogosphere. I think my test went well, but I won't know my grade until next week some time. {*SIGH*}
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And while I'm speaking about tests, I'm frustrated with myself. In my medical terminology class I always get just one or two questions wrong. Why can't I stop making stupid mistakes and get 100%?! Believe me, I'm very happy and impressed with myself that I'm doing so well, but I want a PERFECT score!! Is that too much to ask? LOL {And yes, I go through my tests over and over to make sure there's nothing I want to change...my 'gut' has deceived me a couple times! lol}

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I feel like I don't have much to say today. Because my week has been so filled with studying I haven't done much else. I still haven't watched Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and some other shows from LAST WEEK yet, as well as Ellen from this week! My DVR has been so neglected! I think I'm going to have to do a bunch of tv watching today to catch myself up a bit. Haha!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This wasn't the best week for Kyle. I don't remember which day it was. Monday or Tuesday I think. Kyle and my cousin were trying to take this down.

{This is when it was going UP, before Christmas.}

Kyle was at the top, where his brother is in this picture, and John was on the ground with his back to the fence. Apparently the pole came down faster than they had intended and it slammed John into the fence {and his back was a total mess...all scratched and bloody...} and Kyle's nuckle / finger got pinched in the horizontal pole {that's not attached to the wooden beams yet} that the pole was attached to. He also did something to his wrist and on Wednesday night his hand was about twice the size of his other hand. He says he didn't break it but he definitely did something to it. And we don't have insurance so we'd have to pay out the butt to have it looked at. Plus he's just stubborn and won't go in unless it's an emergency. Ugh, not good. He started calling me "Nurse Megan" since I'm in school for medical stuff and I've been bandaging his hand up every night. LOL

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a big ole thing of brie cheese in my fridge that has a 'sell by' date on it for today. However, as much as I want to eat it, I also DON'T want to eat it because of what happened with wine and brie a couple weeks ago {it all came back up after one too many glasses of wine}. What to do, what to do?!?!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I need my hair done again but I'm SO not asking my sister to do it again. I didn't post about it when it happened, but suffice it to say that the last time she did my hair, we ended up in a GINORMOUS fight {not exactly ABOUT my hair, but sort of...}. It's too complicated to go into and really, you'd have to know my sister's and my relationship to 'get it'. Plus it just makes me sad thinking about it. I wish we had a normal relationship... Guess I'm going to have to start paying to have my hair done again, which sucks since I have no money for that sort of thing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I really wish I knew how to use Photoshop or other programs like it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have a story I want to tell you that happened about 10 or 11 years ago, but it's gonna have to wait till next week some time. Look for it. It's a good one, I think at least. It's about God's protection.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I guess that's it for now. My brain is fried.
Wordfulless Wednesday: Stuck
Ocean Shores, WA
August 2003
What NOT to do while driving on the beach...
1. Drive on soft sand.
2. Drive on the sand with 2-wheel drive.
3. Spin your wheels trying to get unstuck only to dig deeper and deeper.
DO thank God for strangers willing to help dig your truck out of the sand!
For more Wordless Wednesday go to the WW HQ here.
Worship and Praise Sunday: Live Out Loud
Live Out Loud
Steven Curtis Chapman
{This video is actually two songs, Live Out Loud is second, but both are awesome and I liked this video the best of those that I could find that had the embedding enabled. It's worth watching the whole thing.}
Imagine this
I get a phone call from Regis -
he says "Do you want to be a millionaire?"
They put me on a show and I win
with two lifelines to spare
Picture this
I act like nothing ever happened
and bury all the money in a coffee can
Well, I've been given more than Regis ever gave away
I was a dead man who was called to come out of my grave
I think it's time for makin' some noise
CHORUS:
Wake the neighbors
Get the word out
Come on, crank up the music, climb a mountain and shout
This is life we've been given, made to be lived out
So, la, la, la, la, live out loud
Think about this
Try to keep a bird from singing after
it's soared up in the sky
Give the sun a cloudless day and tell
it not to shine
Think about this
If we really have been given the gift
of life that will never end
And if we have been filled with living
hope, we're gonna overflow
And if God's love is burning in our
hearts, we're gonna glow
There's just no way to keep it in
CHORUS
So, la, la, la, la, live out loud
Live out loud
Everybody
La, la, la...la, la, la...la, la, la, live out loud
I wanna hear everybody
La, la, la...la, la, la...la, la, la, live out loud
Every corner of creation is a living declaration
Come join the song we were made to sing
CHORUS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thought I'd do a nice upbeat, not so traditional, "worship" song(s). This is a great song by a great artist that is basically saying to get out there in the world and Live Out Loud and share the love of Jesus.

Hope you enjoyed this video. It's one that makes you tap your toes and move in your seat.

In a high school civics class, they were discussing the qualifications for becoming President of the United States. The requirements are pretty simple. The candidate must be a natural born citizen and at least 35 years old.

A blonde girl in the class piped up and began complaining about how unfair it was to require the candidate to be a natural born citizen. In her opinion, that made it impossible for many qualified people to run for the office. She went on and on, wrapping up her argument with "What makes a natural born citizen more qualified to be President than one born by C-Section?"

~~~~~~~~~~
This blonde decides one day that she is sick and tired of all the blonde jokes and how all blondes are perceived as stupid, so she decides to show her husband that blondes really are smart.
Funny Dumb Blonde Jokes
While her husband is off at work, she decides that she is going to paint a couple of rooms in the house.
The next day, right after her husband leaves for work, she gets down to the task at hand.
Her husband arrives home at 5:30 and detects the distinctive smell of paint. He walks into the living room and finds his wife lying on the floor in a pool of sweat.
He notices that she is wearing a ski jacket and a fur coat at the same time. He goes over and asks her if she is OK.
She replies, "Yes."
He asks what she is doing.
She replies that she wanted to prove to him that not all blonde women are dumb and she wanted to do it by painting the house.
He then asks her why she has on a ski jacket and a fur coat.
She replies that she was reading the directions on the paint can and they said, "For best results, put on two coats."
~~~~~~~~~~

A blonde was driving home after work and got caught in a really bad hailstorm. Her car was covered with dents, so the next day she took it to the repair shop. The shop owner saw that she was a blonde, so he decided to have some fun. He told her just to go home and blow into the tail pipe really hard, and all the dents would pop out.

So, the blonde went home, got down on her hands and knees and started blowing into her car's tailpipe. Nothing happened. She blew a little harder, and still nothing happened.

Her roommate, another blonde, came home and said, "What are you doing?" The first blonde told her how the repairman had instructed her to blow into the tailpipe in order to get all the dents to pop out.

Her roommate rolled her eyes and said... "HEL-LOOOOOOOO ...You gotta roll up the windows!!!

Fragmented Aloha Friday: Inlaws, School, Awards

Kailani says: In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My question is:

Do you like football? Are you going to watch the Super Bowl?

My answer:

No, I do not like football but it looks like I may be watching it this year whether I like it or not. Haha!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While at my inlaws the other day, my FIL turned on a DVR'd show. Wanna take a while guess as to what it was? Ok, fine. I'll just tell you. BOB THE BUILDER. Seriously? I was laughing my butt off!! I guess he was watching it on Saturday morning and told my MIL, "Come here. You've GOT to see this!" Like he was totally excited over this kids show on SPROUT. Haha!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Then, my FIL was telling us all that it reminded him of their pastor. Not sure how, but apparently he is a total dumbass...bad to say about a pastor, but he seriously should NOT be a pastor from everything they've told us. My MIL told us that she had been having a very serious conversation with their pastor recently and he says to her "Have I been a bad boy? Do I need to be spanked?" OH. MY. GOSH. He did NOT just say that!?!?! Oh yes, he did! Soo soo very wrong but I could NOT stop laughing at the absurdity of it. A PASTOR? Saying that to my MIL, AND during a serious conversation, not just some passing conversation. Wowzers!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm part of a study group for my Human Body class and one of the guys is in a play so he's been in character 24-7 to prepare for it. The first day of class he didn't have his accent but by the next class he had a British accent {we only have it once a week} and it confused the hell out of me! Anyway, this guy is a pretty large guy that sweats profusely. {Blech, to the sweat!} And he's LOUD. Very, very LOUD. We sit down in the common area of the building our class is in and I swear, people can hear him on the 3rd floor, inside the classrooms. I want to tell him to use his inside voice, but fear that'd be a bit rude. He's very nice, just head-pounding LOUD.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Crack girl" is still sitting in front of me in my health care class. Everyone in the class has sort of assigned ourselves to the seats we're in so that's why I don't move. Instead I place my binder on the desk in a position to block her crack from my view and I sit back in my chair. I wish I could tell her to wear pants that fit.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My sister posted this on Facebook yesterday:
I was just walking by Evan and he said "you got a burger to go with that shake " ...WHAT? lol!
Such a goofball! haha!
Some bloggy biz-nezz to take care of now...
I've recently received some of these and a couple of them are from waaaayyyyy toooo long ago. I'm so sorry I'm so not good at getting to these. I really hope I haven't forgotten any either. I tried to go back through my email to find them but I may have missed a couple.
I received the Beautiful Blogger Award from Stephanie as well as from Brittney.
I'm supposed to tell you 7 fun facts about myself:
1. When brushing my teeth and rinsing my mouth out, I slurp the water from my toothbrush to the count of 10, then gurgle and spit.
2. I'm addicted to tv. I DVR a lot of shows and since starting school, sit and watch for most of the day on Friday's.
3. I love making Chewy "woof" and "grrrr". Makes me laugh.
4. I have a pair of adult-size footie pj's that I keep meaning to show you guys.
5. I buy things in 2's. I can't just buy one can of something or one box of something or one loaf of bread.
6. I don't usually sleep with socks on and if I do go to bed with them on they're most likely going to come off some time during the night.
7. I have a million books that I haven't read but I keep buying more.
~~~~~~~

Bethany gave me the Sunshine Award.

~~~~~~~
Christa gave me the Lemonade Award.
~~~~~~~

The Redhead Riter gave me the Happy 101 Award.

I'm supposed to list 10 things that make me happy, so here they are:

1. My hubby
2. Chewy
3. Ice cream and or any sweets
4. Reading
5. Flowers from my hubby
6. When I come home and things have been done without me asking {especially cuz it never happens. haha!}
7. Sweatshirts
8. Seafood
9. Watching my favorite shows
10. My friends

~~~~~~~
Samantha gave me the Heartfelt Blogger Award.
~~~~~~~

Kiki gave me the Honest Scrap Award.

And for this one I'm supposed to list 10 honest things about myself. The list of 7 was hard. Let's see what I can come up with for this...

1. I like to play board games but don't get to very often and I don't usually win either. lol

2. I like to cook but not every night and not if it's expected of me.

3. I have way too many stinkin candles {not that they stink, I just have a lot}!

4. I hate stupid drivers! HATE!!

5. And I'm one of the most impatient drivers BECAUSE OF the STUPID driver's! I'm not a bad driver and I'm a safe driver, but UGH! One of my biggest pet peeves!

6. I get anxiety at the most random moments. Thankfully they don't turn into anxiety attacks, though.

7. I take a lot of pictures. A. Lot. And I've got them stored all over the place. Shutterfly, Kodak Gallery, Photobucket...to name a few. It's out of control.

Ok, that's enough. I can't think of anything else right now. lol

~~~~~~~
I want to thank each and every one of you for sharing your awards with me. And I am a rule breaker so I'm going to be bad and not pass these on. I just don't have the time to pick and choose and I feel badly for leaving people out. So I would love for you to claim any of these awards for yourself, if you so choose. You ALL deserve them!!! Muah!!
