Major Malfunction!

If you come upon a post and wonder why there's a weird black box with an exclamation mark in it, you may want to read this post to find out what has gone wrong. Still trying to figure out how to fix it all, without having to do each post manually. Until then, the black boxes remain. I thank you for your understanding. If you know someone that can help me, PLEASE send them my way!

The Dress, The Wedding, The Weekend

{I apologize if my blog loads slowly for you.  I'm working on getting that fixed.  Still trying to figure out what's causing it to be so dang slow.  Plus I'm moving things around, adding things, deleting things...hopefully it will run faster soon!  Thanks for your patience!!}

This weekend has been a scorcher!  For the most part, Washington has NOT experienced summer weather this year.  But when it decides to show up, it SHOWS. UP.  It's been in the 90's and not having A/C makes it almost unbearable inside.  I don't mind being OUTSIDE in the heat, but in my house?  I want it to be cooler.

Anywho...

I got this adorable dress at Kohl's, which I mentioned the other day.  This is the picture I had Kyle take of me after I got ready {I also posted it on Twitter so some of you already saw it}.  Just ignore the mess surrounding me and the fact that I was in this dress in HOT weather therefore sweating my face off before I even got out the door.  I also changed my shoes at the wedding but they're so uncomfortable that they don't stay on for very long. lol

I got this dress to wear to a wedding so I also promised you that I was going to show you a picture of the bride and me.  We've always been told she looks like me and watching the slide show they had during the wedding, there were definitely some pictures in there that made my mom and I looked at each other like "That is totally you/me!"  Kind of funny.  Here's a picture of the two of us.  What do you think?  See some similar family resemblance in us?

{I think we looked more alike when we were younger.}

Here a couple pictures of the actual wedding.  It was a very short wedding.  Like 15 minutes, maybe?  One of the shortest I've ever been to!

The Groom
The Bride and her dad {my mom's cousin}
The Kiss
The reception was nice, but I think they had more people show up than they had planned for so it was pretty cramped.  We stood the entire time we were there. We drove with my mom {and if you follow me on Twitter, you'll know that I was fearing for my life!  She's a crazy driver but thinks she's good.  Sorry if you're reading this mom, it's the truth. ;0P}, so we left when she did, which thankfully was not late into the night.  We got home around 10pm.  Our house was still an OVEN so we slept with no covers and I put a cold, wet washcloth on my feet and my chest to cool myself down, plus we had a fan blowing directly on us.

Sunday we survived the heat once again.  Around 4:30 or 5pm we decided it was time to go down to the lake.  We stopped at the grocery story to get something to eat since I was NOT going to be cooking in the heat and we went and got the boat.  We cruised around the lake, ate our dinner and then we got in the lake. We floated around for about an hour and then got back in, cruised around some more, watched the sun set and then came home around 9pm.  It was a hot, but enjoyable weekend!

How was your weekend?  How do you beat the heat?

Hey, Megan-nice dress. Is it a coincindence that it matches your new blog background (which is nice, BTW). I live in TX so I totally understand about the heat issues. Even with the a/c running day and night it's sometimes not too cool indoors. I usually wait until I can't stand it anymore and turn on the air in late May/early June. It doesn't go off until the temp is consistently in the low 80's which may not be until late September. The electric bill is horrific, but it's still 90 degrees after the sun has gone down around here sometimes! Have a great week. -Eastlyn

Cute dress...and it DOES match your blog! I love it.
You kinda look like the bride...both of you are cuties!

We went to a wedding on Saturday too and we have another one to go to next Saturday.

Sorry you are suffering so much in the heat. Do you not have AC or is it just broken? You poor thing...I couldn't survive without it.

The outing at the lake sounded fun. Glad you and hubby got to do that.

I cant imagine living without AC but then again it was 111 here yesterday! Today it is supposed to be cooler at 103. During this time of the summer we pretty much do nothing outside...too hot!

That looks like it was such a beautiful wedding! And I seriously LOVE that dress!

I wish you would send some of that heat up here though... we just set a record for most days of rain in a row in Anchorage. I am so bummed and I seriously miss the sun!

Megan, Congrats on the blog of the day. Happy to be in your company.
I doubt that you're concerned about the amt. of comments you get, because you know you're blog has a limited audience.
I don't get a lot of comments either, but if they're not sincere I don't want them anyway.
The wedding looked lovely and so did you! I love a good wedding!

Cute dress and cute blog! I am hopping over from Blog Frog!
Hey, quick question, the little widget in your top right corner of your sidebar that says connect with me. What is that called and where did you get it? I like it! :)

I wish you luck with conceiving. I teach hypnosis for birth and I know some moms who struggled with fertility and used hypnosis to help them. If you are interested I can get some recommendations from them!

That dress is ADORABLE!!!

You two do look a lot alike - you have strong I. genes from that side of the family - all the I's who picked up I traits look A LOT alike. Sara and I seem to have gotten most of our physical traits from our dad.
