Ahhhhh!!!!
There's so much to learn and figure out, but thankfully, there's a store near me that is a 100% gluten-free store {although it doesn't make sense to me that they'd have something in their store that is "gluten-free" if it shares a factory where it may share space with items that include wheat...that's gonna be frustrating to try to avoid}.
Yesterday I went to that store and I purchased this:
Can we say STICKER SHOCK?!?!
Eighty-eight dollars. Eighty.Eight.Dollars. $88.
HOLY MOLY, Peeps!!
While I'm sure I won't need to buy the convenience food always, I definitely think I do when I'm first starting out. I was really happy to see that they had All Purpose Flour, gluten-free style because I bake a lot and I don't want to have to stop doing that just because I'm going gluten-free.
If you're gluten-fee, PLEASE tell me what I should be doing and any books / cookbooks you recommend. I'm going to really go for it after my birthday, although I've already started a bit. Since I've started, I've noticed this rash that I have that I've been dealing with for way too long, has started to decrease. {YAY!!} I'll talk more about my other symptoms at another time.
Are you 100% gluten-free? Are you gluten-free sometimes? Always?
Did you change the toiletries {toothpaste, deoderant, shampoo, conditioner, make-up} that you use? Which brands?
What are your favorite gluten-free brands?
Where do you find the best, cost-effective prices? There is this gluten-free store that's eleven miles from my house. There's a Central Market about 15 miles from my house; Trader Joes, QFC, Fred Meyers, Safeway, Haggen's. Some of the stores are generally more expensive than others, some have very small gluten-free sections and others have more options.
In order to live the best gluten-free life possible, what is your advice or recommendations? Anything specific that you think I should know?
Please share! I feel like a flailing fish out of water!
