After I read that she was doing that, I remembered that we had some straw in our
So one day while I was outside with Chewy, I went over to see what was going on with it and this is what I saw.
WEEDS!! Woohoo! We're growing.......WEEDS!
And it took no effort on our part at all!!
Please just ignore all the other crap out there. It's the catch-all for the yard. Some of it was left by the previous owners and in the 4.5 years we've lived here, Kyle still hasn't gotten it all to the dump. {And believe me when I say that the previous owners left ALL their crap. You should've seen the inside of the house. Had to be fully cleaned up and restored before we could move in!} Some of it is left over from our Christmas light display. Some of it is just trash and weeds. We're in the process of cleaning it up so just pretend you don't see it.

That is very interesting. I've never heard of straw bale gardening before.
We have a part of our yard like that too...our catchall LOL
I am going to have to check out this straw gardening business...
Are you guys renting the place that you are in? I guess the people just picked up and left hey?!
LOL!! I cracked up when I read your post. I can relate! We don't have the hay/weeds, but we do have the most embarrassing backyard in the neighborhood because of our huge Bernese and the destruction he's reaked on it - our plants are all half chewed off and dead and what we have left of the grass is yellowed, patchy, and usually littered with gigantic piles of dog poo! Plus we live in a development where all the houses are right next to one another so I feel sorry for the people that are forced to view our yard when they look out their windows...:) So, don't feel bad, it could always be worse! Hehe.
This is my kind of gardening!!
I actually have a pretty big garden in my yard with squash, okra, and corn, but I recently built a house right in the midst of all my family and there was a big field in my yard.
My dad and uncles thought this had to be a garden. So, one uncle disks it, one uncle plants it and my dad picks it. But, my yard - my garden! How about that for no effort gardening?? :)
I follow MckMama, but I almost always skip reading the posts - I will have to go check it out...
And yay! I see you have your FB fan page up and running!! :)
Thanks for stopping by and saying hello on my SITS day! Hope you have a great weekend.
I am cracking up laughing! Nice weeds. Maybe I should take tips from you b/c I cannot grow anything. HA!
Ha! A little weed garden! I love it!!
I really really wanted to do a straw bale garden this year but just never got around to getting the straw. Probably a good thing as the HOA where I live would have probably had a cow and those aren't allowed in our covenants :)
Beautiful weeds lol. I have not felt like replanting my garden since my sons dogs dug mine up after years of working on it.
