There's A New Addition...To The Garage

Most of you saw my garage and what it looked like last November.

Many dump runs, a garage sale and a bunch of organization later...

...we still have a keg; actually, turns out we have two! And a bunch of gas cans, extension cords, buckets...

...a moose head {that will eventually go in our dream house...a log home}...that mysterious safe...

...crap...although Kyle did organize all the paint cans in that cabinet above the freezer...

...some left over junk that still needs to find a home at either the dump, Goodwill or the side of the road...Oh and a tv that will eventually make it IN the house {but it weighs a frickin ton!}...all the Christmas display stuff is on those shelves above the garage door...

...there's still a pop machine and tools and doors and trim {and whatever else all that wood is}...there's the fans we couldn't find during our 100 + degree days we had this summer...that burlap thing is part of our Christmas display...{supposed to make the front of our house, above the garage, look like a stable}...

...there's still the locker and the stop light and the urinal...and a stop sign that I didn't remember us having...

...you can walk in there without tripping over stuff now...and the broken handled oven is finally gone {woohoo!!!}...

...but it still looks like a mess.

But there's less junk in there than there was before. I can't complain too much. After all, there ARE boxes of mine in there that I haven't gone through yet. I just can't bring myself to spend much time out there since it's so dusty and dirty and I end up having an allergy attack. Plus, I just don't like getting dirty. {I know you're laughing at me. Stop it!! LOL}

Side Note: The armoire did eventually make it upstairs to our computer room. {I'm sitting at it now. Ha!} {Don't judge the mess! It's purple carpet {that we did NOT choose thankyouverymuch}, with two shedding animals and a vacuum that barely works.} I would show you what it looks like open, but um...NO!! It's a disaster in there and you're lucky you get to see this picture. :0P

Back to the garage...Kyle did make a concerted effort to get the garage cleaned up for a reason. And no, it was NOT so that I could FINALLY park my car in there. Believe me, I SO wish I could. Especially during the winter when the windows start freezing over. Sigh. Some day. Someday I WILL have a garage where my car has a nice, warm home.

No, this clean-fest was for another reason.

I've been teasing you a bit.

{Haha!!}

I teased last you Thursday on Twitter {if you follow me!}.

{Teehee!!}

I teased you on Saturday with my six words.

{Neener! Neener!}

Now, I'm not totally thrilled with this new addition to my garage, but Kyle is beyond excited and I thought my neighbor was going to have an orgasm over it {sorry, but it's true}! I'm sure over time, I will be more excited about it. Until then...

Are you tired of my teasing? LOL

Ok. FINE!!

I now introduce you to my husbands new lover:

Yup. A boat.

It's a 1972 something or other. The owner {because we are not legal owners of it yet} has completely restored it two times and it hasn't been in the water in something like 5 or 6 years. It's also never lived outside. It's been in our driveway since Thursday, but last night it was supposed to storm so Kyle and I got it in the garage. And yes, it's in diagonally. There's about an inch of room left behind it. It's the only way it would fit. He's lucky he got it in all the way. Did you notice the urinal is off the wall? Yup, it had to come down. Haha!!

The only reason why we were able to get this in the first place is because Kyle is trading work for it. He has to do 125 hours of work at this guys house {remodeling a bathroom and some other random stuff} and when the work is complete, the guy will sign the title over to us. In the mean time, he told Kyle he could bring it home. He's also giving us all the toys and life vests, etc that he has to go with it. Very generous. Now, hopefully, I will quit hearing Kyle beg and plead and strategise about getting a boat. I can now tell him that he already has one sitting in our garage taking up my vehicles warm space.

{And hardly any of our friends or family know about it because I didn't want to say anything until we actually had it. Kyle's not exactly the best with follow-through so I didn't think we'd actually get it. But he did and I'm excited for him and I have confidence that he'll complete the job so that this can be his new baby for as long as he wants it.}

I never guessed that one coming. No wonder he got the garage reorganized. Hope you actually can get some use from your boat. Poor car.

I love organizational projects. How brave of you to share yours! Maybe I'll get bold one of these days.

One of the things I'm looking forward to about moving is getting rid of our excess crap!

I hope ya'll enjoy your time on the boat...and that Kyle follows through.

Oh no, I am not letting my husband look at your blog!

That's awesome!

Question, why do you have a urinal in your garage in the first place?

oh, thats really cool. congrats to Kyle... and you, of course.

Im not a very outside-type of girl, but I think having a boat would be pretty fun. I picture myself having a mixed drink or two out in the sun. =)

Congrats on the new boat Meagan! I'm sure you guys will have a lot of fun next summer tooting around in it!

Your garage reminds me of a combination of ours and my sister's whose also contains a boat (hers not mine)... fortunately she lives in NC so it's not a problem in winter with the car in the driveway ;-)

Congrats again!

It cracks me up that a boat is in there and not a car. ;)

Good for Kyle!

I was wondering about the urinal in the garage. And, I have never seen so many extension cords...ever. Is that for your Christmas display?
